RETIRING THE COLORS-TRADITION

Pulse Check began using a 25X50 American flag loaned to us by a great friend, Jerry Accomondo, from district 1, as the center focus of our podium in 2011. We felt it was a GREAT way to honor our country and it worked wonderfully as a background when photos were being taken of our award winners. At the end of the banquet we realized that the flag needed to be retired properly and that meant finding many people to assist in the process of taking it down and folding it. With the help of youth squad members from Haverstraw EMS and Stony Point EMS, the guidance and Leadership of Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Richard Perry and DJ Chuck Larkin playing God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood we STARTED A TRADITION. (Ironically this was done the same year we honored the memory of the 10th remembrance of 9-11.)

Prior to our banquet in 2016, the flag we used was accidently damaged. A frantic search began. After many hours of not being able to find a suitable replacement, a phone call was made to press secretary Jason Kaplan at the office of Senator Charles E. Schumer. Jason explained the situation to Senator Schumer and he GRACIOUSLY DONATED our new 25x50 AMERICAN FLAG.

With the assistance of Grey Goose Graphics an AMAZING video was produced this year. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
